Finally, here is a gift to the world from the editors of the
Wall Street Journal. But to be honest, I must confess that I did not expect it
to come so soon. Here is the gift which came in the form of a title for an editorial
that even the editors of the Journal do not believe of word of: “Missile
Defenses Work” which also came with the subtitle: “Israel's Iron Dome
interceptors have a 90% success rate.” It was published in the Journal on July
11, 2014.
First, I must explain that a great deal of the information I
have on the subject has come to me from various sources. It is information I
added to what I know and what I have been able to observe. Thus, there may be
gaps in the picture I stitched in my head, and there may even be some
contradictions in it. But I am confident that I am so close to the truth, I can
say this: The Israelis are not even deploying the so-called Iron Dome; they
scrapped the thing some time ago. What they have is a limited number of Patriot
batteries which they maintain on the alert not to shoot down missiles but shoot
at drones that Hamas or Hezbollah may deploy.
As I was busy doing other things, I began to be interested
in the subject when I received several communications to the effect that someone
called Ben Wedeman at CNN, had reached a high-pitched hysterical level of
propagandizing the idea that the thing called Iron Dome was working so
perfectly well, it was stopping all; that's ABSOLUTELY ALL the rockets without
a single exception. And that the same reporter was put on the air live several
times an hour – hour after hour after hour – at which times he repeated the
same thing over and over and over again.
This is when I decided to do my normal research on the
subject, and to scan the other American networks to see how they were treating
it in comparison with what I was discovering. And sure enough, the normal
pattern of the lie starting with a small trickle of journalists repeating it
while biting their tongue became apparent ... to then metastasize and become a
flood.
This is when I started to search for any footage that would
show the Gaza
rockets being shot down, but found nothing – absolutely zero footage to that
effect. And yet, with all those reporters out there, all the cameras they had
and all the verbal claims that they saw the rockets being intercepted, not a
single interception was filmed day or night. All there was at some point is an
old nighttime footage of a rocket going out of control which some networks
repeated a few times then stopped showing it.
And looking at the numbers as they were bandied about, there
was not a single moment when someone in authority had said that this number of
rockets were launched while this number were intercepted such that the number
of interceptions exceeded the 15% level of those launched. For example, when
they said a volley of 30 rockets were launched, they claimed that only 4 or 5
were intercepted. But seconds after that, and in the same broadcast, a reporter
would pop in front of the camera and claim that “most” or “all” of the rockets
were intercepted. This is B.S. So sickening, only American television in the
service of Israel
is capable of spewing it.
Obviously, it did not occur to these guys and gals that for
every rocket to be shot down, there would have to be at least this many
interceptor tubes at several locations; a number of batteries that Israel never
claimed to have. But when the lie had metastasized so generally that there was
no way to dial back, the game of interpreting the numbers started to be played
by those who wish to maintain the credibility of the claims made by the
cautious Israeli officials and by the ignorant American reporters who made
asses of themselves on the air.
And you can see a distillation of this attempt in the
Journal editorial quoting an Israeli newspaper: “Haaretz.com quotes Israeli
defense sources as saying Iron Dome had been activated to intercept about 27%
of the roughly 180 missiles that had been fired … successfully intercepting
nine out of 10 ...” then comes the big joke: “U.S. sources have confirmed the
Israeli figures.” Which sources are these, Journal editors? CNN?
Come on, Wall Street Journal, how much of your own
credibility are you willing to sacrifice to lend credibility to Israel 's never
ending lies? They do not even dare put out the lies themselves; they get you to
spew them as they sit back and laugh at you.
