To coerce someone is to force them doing something
they would otherwise not do.
To be forced –– by repeated horrific events –– to
do what is considered untimely, should be viewed as morbid coercion. And that's
what got three American mouthpieces of Israel to come up with yet another shiny
object they hope will distract America enough to turn it away from taking the
correct course of action in a matter that has festered for half a century
already. Think of it as the Jews being morbidly coerced to doing now what they
wanted to do at a much later date.
The reality on the ground is that the situation in
occupied Palestine has reached a critical level, and is threatening to explode
with far reaching consequences. Such level was attained because the Jews of
Israel did what they always do, which is to embark on the most demonic project
they could think of without a plan B or an exit strategy that would abort the
project or alter its course if and when something went wrong. The Jews used to
let things come to the edge of catastrophe, and call on America to come and
save them. But no more.
It is that things are about to get out of hand in
occupied Palestine at a time when there appears to be an American effort to
find a permanent solution that would fundamentally change the way things have
been unfolding for half a century. The difference between the current American
effort and previous ones, is that unlike before, neither Israel's leaders nor
their American cohorts will be able to attack the current administration by
accusing it of bias against Israel. No one that knows how much Trump has done
for the Jews will buy this claim.
This is why you see a complete reversal in the way
that the three amigos: Dennis Ross, Dave Harden and David Makovsky are
describing the situation in occupied Palestine. It is diametrically opposed to
the way that the Jews used to describe the same situation when they were not
coerced by the gravity of the events. Our three authors put down their thoughts
in an article that came under the title: “Reshaping US aid to the
Palestinians,” a discussion that's clearly aimed at the US Congress; and they
had it published on September 13, 2018 in the magazine that is closest to the
US Congress: The Hill.
Here is how the three describe the situation in
occupied Palestine: “Gaza is reeling from four hours of electricity, 49.1
percent unemployment, 95 percent of the water undrinkable and insufficient fuel
to power sewage treatment plants. With 60 percent of those between ages 15 and
29 unemployed in Gaza and the economy nearing collapse.” This is what they used
to call a blissful existence for the grateful Palestinians who love to live
under Jewish occupation. True to their character, the Jews were trying to fool
the world into believing there was no need to change a thing in Palestine. But
then, the horrific became the morbid, and the blathering trio were coerced into
backtracking on earlier Jewish statements, and finally tell the truth.
But what are they trying to avoid, anyway? Well,
you can tell what that is by what happened in the past that forced them to
alter their approach. Here is an example as told in their own words:
“15 years ago, in the city of Jenin, Israel opened
a crossing point so Israeli Arabs could shop in the West Bank. That was
successful; increased Palestinian trade has reduced unemployment from 50
percent to below 20 percent. In 2003, Jenin was the center for suicide bombers
but now is a successful Palestinian city. That model is replicable. American
aid can help establish similar zones in the West Bank and Gaza. Palestinian
textile manufacturers have relationships with European markets; Gaza
historically supplied much of the fresh fruits and vegetables to Israel. These
relationships could restart with the opening of additional trading corridors”.
As you can see, Jenin was the place where
Palestinian resistance, known as the intifada, was fiercest. And that's where
the morbid coercion forced the Israelis to implement the changes which the
amigos are now advocating for all of Palestine.
The
Jewish calculus is that Jenin forced Israel to change a few things that made
life a little more bearable for the Palestinians (bad news for ethnic cleansing),
but the changes did not end the occupation (good news for the Israeli army).
Fearing
that the upcoming Trump plan may lead to the end of the occupation, the three
Jews – speaking for the government of Israel – revived the Jenin plan, polished
it to shine like a bright star; and offered it as an alternative to what Trump
will come up with, even before he comes up with it.
That's
because ultimately, the Jews want to maintain the occupation till they achieve
the complete ethnic cleansing of Palestine by getting rid of its Palestinian
population one way or the other.
