Another Attempt to add a Layer of Confusion

Jonah Goldberg has an article in National Review Online under the title: “The West's Gaza” and the subtitle: “No one in the West wants a long struggle with jihadism. The problem is the enemy always gets to vote.” It was published on August 13, 2014.

Most of the article discusses what has come to be called jihadism, Islamic terrorism and such. Goldberg sees that as a long war between the Muslim World and the West. He then throws an idea at the very end in which he says this: “No one in the West wants a generational struggle with Jihadism any more than Israel wants perpetual war with Hamas in Gaza.”

Whatever that means, it would be a good idea for people to remember how it all started, and why the events developed the way they did. And let everyone judge for themselves if Jonah Goldberg is trying to elucidate the subject or confuse it more than it is already.

Egypt has been the victim of terrorism for 3,400 years at the hands of people who first called themselves Hebrews then Israelites then Jews. It took Egypt something like 3,000 years to go from a beginning to the glory days of the Great Pyramids where it remained at the zenith of world power for about 1,500 years. And it was during that time that the nomadic Hebrew tribes went to Egypt where they settled and sojourned for a reported period of 400 years.

Hungry to build a nation of their own that would be modeled after what they saw and learned in Egypt, the Hebrews decided to loot the country that fed them and nurture them during all those centuries. Not only that, they also murdered its children before fleeing with what they could carry to a place reputed to be a land of milk and honey. They called their flight out of Egypt the Exodus, a day they say has marked their beginning as a nation; a day they have been celebrating every year since then under the name Passover.

Although there is not a hint in the well document history of ancient Egypt that any of the stories they are relaying are true, the Hebrews compiled them into a book that became their official history; more importantly their religion too. And while they view the stories as dogma that cannot be questioned, and consider the book their sacred bible, the rest of humanity views the whole thing as a compilation of wishes that became so entrenched, they turned into delusions now standing behind every decision that the Jews make, and every action they take.

The Hebrews, calling themselves Israelites, did not do well in the land of milk and honey from which they were kicked out. They settled everywhere in the known world at the time, including Europe where they started a campaign of verbal terrorism against Egypt. By now they were calling themselves Jews, and started telling the Europeans they built the Egyptian Civilization, including the Pyramids. What the Europeans did not know at the time was that the Hebrews did not get into Egypt till a time between 1,000 and 1,500 years after the construction of those magnificent edifices in a Civilization that had been around for something like 5,000 years already.

The Jews did not do better in Europe where they were pushed around from one place to the other till the Brits found a place outside of Europe where they could dump them, and make them someone else's responsibility. Unfortunately, that place turned out to be Palestine, which is next door to Egypt. Palestine being their colony, the Brits started taking in the Jews in a manner that was orderly. But being who they are, the Jews could not wait to perform terrorism, their favorite pastime. They terrorized both the colonial British government and the Palestinian peasants, many of whom they murdered, looting their properties and stealing their lands.

Egypt that was a British colony at the time on its way to becoming independent, could do nothing to help the Palestinian refugees who were streaming into Egypt and the other neighboring states. And so, whereas the government looked paralyzed, a group of private citizens got together and decided to fight fire with fire. Seeing that the invasion into Palestine was carried out by Jewish fanatics, they set up a Brotherhood of Muslims to try and persuade the Egyptian government to take on the Jewish hordes that were by now menacing the entire region. They failed, and so they took the matter into their own hands but were suppressed by the government against which they turned. The government responded, and things escalated to the point where the brothers committed criminal acts, later called terrorist acts, for which their organization was banned.

Faithful to their method of operation, the Jews of Israel contacted the banned Muslim Brothers in Egypt, offering them support if they would return the favor. Indications exist to the effect that a protocol of cooperation was established between the two. Another thing the Israelis did was to create the Palestinian Hamas movement and trained it to attack Yasser Arafat's Fatah movement. They also established a linkage between Hamas of Palestine and the Muslim Brotherhood of Egypt.

When it comes to terrorism, the Jews are masters. And when it comes to sowing confusion, Jonah Goldberg is fast becoming an expert.
