Do you remember the old Harry Nilsson song that went: “Everybody's talking at me; I don't hear a word they're saying; only the echoes of my mind...”? That's what Joe Biden must be feeling now.
What happened to the poor guy
is that he won the race to the presidency of the United States, and every Jew
and his nephew came out their hiding places to tell him how he must serve
Israel and all Jewish causes. Dozens of such advice are out there in print form
already, and there will be hundreds if not thousands more in the days and
months to come.
Let's review three of them,
beginning with one that's a real doozy. It's an article that came under the
title: “Why Biden's Israel Policies Should Mirror Trump,” written by Eyal
Zisser and published on November 11, 2020 in the online Jewish publication,
Algemeiner. It must be noted that Eyal Zisser teaches at Tel Aviv University.
The first thing that Zisser
did, was voice his fears about those who, “did not wait to push normalizing
ties with Israel.” What he wants to see maintained, is the special relationship
that seemed to exist between America and Israel during the Trump tenure. He
would not be a Jew, of course, if he did not desire being made to feel special
whether the gestures that so express are authentic or they are politically
motivated pretenses. What follows are the passages in which Zisser describes
what Donald Trump has done that benefit Israel, as well as what he fears Joe
Biden might do that will hurt Israel:
“Trump wasted no time putting
Iran and Russia in their place. He didn't hesitate to eliminate Qassem
Soleimani. He imposed stifling economic sanctions on Tehran and Damascus.
History will credit Trump for his steadfast support for Israel. He has been
careful to consider his evangelical electoral base. Biden still subscribes to
the view that the Palestinian issue is the core of all that ails the region.
Then there is the Iranian issue. Biden seems committed to appeasement and convincing
Iran to relinquish its nuclear aspirations of its own volition. One can only
hope that Biden won't hesitate to follow in Trump's footsteps”.
The next article to review
came under the title: “Biden should recant his promise to rejoin the World
Health Organization,” written by Zachary Faria, and published on November 9,
2020 in The Washington Examiner.
Faria started his article with
this: “Joe Biden's big test in handling the coronavirus will come on the global
stage: How he handles the World Health Organization (WHO).” He went on to level
a 200-word diatribe against that organization. This done, Zachary Faria started
telling Joe Biden what he must and must not do when considering America's
interaction with the WHO. He did so, not in a forthright manner but did it by
insulting the WHO, the UN and Joe Biden:
“Biden plans to resume paying
the organization to lie to the world about infectious diseases because that is
how we 'restore our leadership on the world stage'. The constant invocation of
how many Americans were killed by the virus was a tool to defeat Republicans in
an election year. Biden's desire to return to the status quo only confirms
this. The US should not entertain rejoining the WHO without a top-to-bottom
overhaul of the organization. Even then, it is likely unsalvageable, as with
most UN organizations. This shows how ill-equipped Biden is to handle the
pandemic”.
The third article to revue
came under the title: “Biden faces Iran's nuclear fastball,” written by Tom
Rogan and published on November 11, 2020 in The Washington Examiner.
Despite the fact it was
America that withdrew from the Iran nuclear deal and imposed “maximum pressure”
on Iran to force it to come to the negotiating table on its knees, and agree to
the dictates of Jewish America, you see Tom Rogan begin his article by warning
Joe Biden that he'll be facing the alarming reality that Iran is in breach of
the accord. Now, my friend, guess what else Tom Rogan did.
I'll tell you what he did. Tom
Rogan did something he never did during the past four years as he watched the
wild joker in the White House run the country as if he were an angry bull
caught in a china shop with no way out. Here is what Rogan did; he wrote the
following: “While Biden wants to rejoin the JCPOA [Iran nuclear accord] as soon
as possible, his responsibilities will require him to act prudently.” Rogan
never said it to unpredictable Donald Trump; he is saying it to Joe Biden who
is known for his judicious temperament. Upside-down logic, what is thy name?
Can he top that? Did Tom Rogan
do something else that would be just as astonishing? Yes, he did; he wrote the
following:
“Were Biden to continue
enforcing the Trump administration's sanctions and demand improvements to the
2015 agreement in terms of ballistic missile restrictions, strengthened
inspections protocols, and centrifuge limits, Iran would have little choice but
to return to the negotiating table. Internal pressures in Iran are now highly
significant, and the collapse of the Iranian economy threatens to undermine the
regime's monopoly of force”.
Rogan is repeating what has
been echoed thousands of times during the years. As per the Jewish habit, he is
carrying on with two parallel and contradictory discourses at the same time.
From one side of the mouth, he says that Iran is getting weaker, and finds
itself on the verge of collapse. From the other side of the mouth, he says that
Iran is getting stronger and more dangerous by the day.
And like everyone else, Tom
Rogan is waiting. It seems that these people have grown tired of waiting for
Godot, and so they invented a new God they don’t mind waiting for. Now they
wait for Iran to collapse, promising to wait for the event to happen from here
to eternity.
Meanwhile, everybody's talkin’ at him; he can't hear a word they're saying; only the echoes of his mind.
