They love the Boomerang that loves them

It was suspected, during several decades that the Jewish lobby in America worked at times against its own interest for no reason that anyone could understand. A new theory was formulated by someone each time that the lobby did it to itself, but no one explained what exactly the lobby was doing or why it was doing it.

The mystery lasted such a long time that ordinary people got used to it, and only a few specialists bothered to check on it once in a while. Thanks to Benny Avni, however, we now have the opportunity to take a peep at what's going on. And you can be certain that the interest of ordinary people in what the Jewish lobby is doing, will be rekindled. It is that Benny Avni wrote: “The Palestinian 'Game of Thrones' is on,” a column that was published on February 28, 2018 in the New York Post. And that's where we begin our probe in the quest to unveil the mystery.

Avni says that all the signs are here to the effect that the 83-year-old Mahmoud Abbas may not last much longer. Being the president of the Palestinian Authority, several candidates form the West bank and Gaza, have launched what amounts to low level campaigns vying to replace him. What Avni failed to mention, however, is that this development is such a remarkable phenomenon, it never happened anywhere before. Can you imagine French or Polish or Dutch or Greek candidates preparing for an election under German occupation? It was unthinkable then; it is unthinkable now, except when it comes to the Palestinians.

Unfortunately however, writing his article, Benny Avni neglected to mention the value of that unprecedented Palestinian display of nobility. He was just too busy establishing a different principle; the one that happened to reveal why the Jews do the things that hurt their causes. In fact, Avni began telling this part of the story with these words: “Arab leaders are starting to pick their favored horses. A Palestinian official predicted that the outcome [of the leadership race] will be decided this time by the leaders of the Arab states”.

He went on to name the Palestinian candidates; told what each of them did in a previous life, what each thinks today, and whose favored candidate each may or may not be. Avni also speculated as to the possible results when the election will finally get underway. He then lodged this complaint: “Washington, as yet, has been mostly mum.” And this is the point at which he starts to unveil the mystery of the Jews hurting their causes.

You'll discover that their aim is to achieve the things that everyone considers worthless. There are plenty of clues to that effect in the following condensed passage:

“If America wants to remain relevant in the Mideast, it must draw red lines and clarify our interests; ensure the next [Palestinian] leader continues security coordination with our allies, most crucially Israel. Throwing America's weight behind a Palestinian candidate isn't without risk, though. One candidate, for example, tells everyone that America hates him, knowing it increases popular support among Palestinians. At the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, they say we need to have our ear to the ground, making sure we watch out for our core interests.
Achieving that would be a trick beyond the capacity of the current, or any, administration. But neglecting to clarity our preferences will be hazardous –– for us and our allies”.

First, we note that every time a Jewish pundit mentions “our interests,” he means not America's interests, but Israeli interests secured by America and maintained by it. From this, we deduce that when the Jews seem at times to hurt their cause, it's because they are trying to “clarify” their preferences. In so doing, they believe they avoid unspecified hazards that could hurt them and their allies.

When we dig deeply into the Avni column, we find that the foremost interest of the Jews is to remain relevant in the Middle East. This can be achieved, in his view, by drawing red lines, interfering with the electoral process of other countries, and doing all that's necessary to help the candidate of their choice.

What they do not realize––even after decades and centuries of misery they were forced to endure––is that they are playing with a boomerang that keeps coming back at them with violence and fury each time they use it.

And so they continue to love and play with the boomerang that never fails to return the love. The troubling part is that they are trying to draw America into the same bed … and they seem to succeed.
