A Washington Post Editorial about Nothing

Once again, the editors of the Washington Post pulled their Seinfeld shtick and wrote an editorial about nothing concerning the Middle East. This time it came under the title: “Egypt's bogus democracy doesn't deserve U.S. aid” and was published on January 13, 2014.

The editorial itself does not deserve being commented on because it is as empty of ideas as the scorched deserts of Planet Mercury ... That would be the first rock from the sun in case you didn't know. The editorial is still interesting, however, because of the visitors that have dropped in on it. One of these is Michelle Dunne who is so obsessed with Egypt; her passion for the country seems to border on the fatal attraction.

Unfortunately, however, whatever it is that draws the soul of this woman to that country, she must realize by now that the country is not returning the sentiment. To put it bluntly, most Egyptians would prefer that she disappears from their sight. And so, the best thing for her to do under the circumstances is to look to someone else who might appreciate the intensity of her desires – whether they are of the soul or they are of the intellect.

In fact, a perfect soul-mate for her at this time could well be the entity they call Israel which hungers for attention as much as she hungers for someone over whom to pour her boundless attention. The evidence to that effect is that in Israel, they come close to calling for a national holiday the moment they hear that the place they call home was mentioned by an Arab, no matter how insignificant and how nondescript that Arab may be.

And if that person happens to be an Egyptian, they might even take a two day holiday in Israel. Not only that, but they would call on their mouthpieces the world over to participate in the celebration and have a good time. The latter would do just that by mentioning that Israel was talked about in Egypt, and by repeating themselves like a child does when talking about the new toy he received at Christmas.

And there is much in Israel around which Michelle Dunne can wrap her arms ... to embrace or to strangle. For example, the current negotiations which are mediated by the American Secretary of State John Kerry to bring peace to Palestine are entering a critical stage. They aim to reconcile the rights of the indigenous Palestinians with the voracious appetite that the invading Jewish aliens have for Palestinian property. And while the effort exerted by the Secretary of State is herculean, a number of strange things have happened, and continue to happen; a development that is not new but that remains disconcerting and discouraging to say the least.

What's happening is that the typical Israeli coordinated sabotage which is always carried out both at the official and the non-official levels, is manifesting itself again. As usual, the world is beginning to see Jewish settlers who are living in the Palestinian territories, and are protected by the Israeli army, set fire to the homes, mosques and churches of the Palestinians so as to create a climate that will end up scuttling the peace effort.

And while this is happening at the non-official level, you see government ministers come out of nowhere, and hurtle insults at the American prince of peace who came to work hard at delivering them from their self-inflicted misery. And that too is meant to scuttle the peace effort. All in all, these people seem intent to lend credibility to the saying that no one who brings peace to the Jews escapes crucifixion by them.

But Michelle Dunne must not let this habit of theirs worry her. This is because she does not have to try bringing peace to the land. All she has to do is observe, and then tell the Congressional idiots back in Washington what she is seeing. They will do the rest, which Dunne can be certain do not include contributing even one iota to something positive such as peace, for example.

And who knows, it may happen that between Michelle Dunne, the American Congress and Israel, a love triangle will develop, and give people like me something nice to write about. I look forward to that.
